The lands adjacent to the Tidal Basin along the Potomac River in Washington D.C. is the site of many landmark architectural gems. On an icy day in late January, freshly fallen snow on the frozen basin made for a wonderful and rare isolated experience in the city.  The peak of this mid-winter event was the momentary warming of the Jefferson Memorial as the sun set in the western sky.
